Sacred Pilgrimage on the holy Mountain of Kalinchok to the Kali shrine
A three weeks intense travel with Himalayan Shamans
(deutsch)
Once every year for the renewal of their shaman powers (shakti) the shamans of the Himalayan region undertake the difficult and exhausting climb atop of the nearly 4000 m high peak of Kalinchok. A holy mountain in the eastern Himalayas dedicated to the goddess Kali or Kalinchoke Mai. On the dome-shaped peak there is a sanctuary of the goddess Kali with a magic spring that will never run out. Uncountable shamans and pilgrims gather there in the dawn of the august full moon - in the middle of monsoon season - to offer sacrifices to the goddess of life and death.
With this challenging journey we are part of one of the most significant and important pilgrimages of the Himalayan shamans. It will lead us deep into the magic world of the shamans of the highest mountains on earth. The way to the peak passes small settlements, terrace-fields, waterfalls, leads through canyons, mystic and wild-romantic cloud forests, over steep slopes and along enchanted mountain lakes. Breathtaking sceneries reward us for the tremendous efforts of the way up. The Himalayan shamans own an unbroken and age-old tradition in the arts of performing miracles, the arts of healing and magic wisdom. Their knowledge reaches back to the roots of shamanism in general. The ancient traditional rituals which are celebrated throughout the whole journey reveal insights into the innermost regions of humans, nature and the cosmos. With this special journey and because of his longstanding partnership with Himalayan shamans, Marius E. Hannig makes it possible to get in contact to shamans in their natural surrounding and with their traditional rituals. To participate, collaborate and to benefit from this is a huge privilege for interested people coming from western cultures. The message of the shamans is a message coming directly from their hearts, this can be experienced directly through the warm and affectionate hospitality by the local people, through nature and its divine powers: We are all children of this earth and it is our responsibility to protect and respect our Mother Earth.
