Retreat in the Himalayas 2015 |
Shamanic Initiations in the wilderness of the Shivapuri Nagarjun National Park, Nepal With Marius E. Hannig & Himalayan Shamans
3 to 13 October 2015 (deutsch)
The Jhakris, as shamans are called in the Himalayan region, are deeply connected with the entities and powers of nature. The climatic conditions are very different in the relatively little country Nepal, they range from subtropical regions to high alpine mountains. For the shamans the mostly wild nature that surrounds them is not only enlivened by physical beings but also suffused by diverse metaphysical phenomenas like gods, spirits of nature, animal allies, souls of the dead and other presences. The so called „Yeti" seen by western mountain climbers is revered as Ban-Jhakri (prehistoric shaman or wild human living in the wilderness) by the shamans of the Himalayas since thousands of years. With rituals and spezial mantras which are transmitted over generations by shamans they are able to call this entity and to benefit from his knowledge. For the shamans Ban-Jhakri is an entity existing in real by whom they not only learn about healing-mantras and the dealing with important medicinal plants but also get a deep understanding about the healing and ballance between humankind and nature. The Shivapuri Nagarjun's National Park with its subtropical to temperate climate offers space for a variety of very rare medicinal plants and mushrooms as well as for special species of animals like leopards, bears, monkeys, martens, armadillos and many many more.
We will be a week in the wilderness together with the shamans. We will spend the days and nights with shamanic rituals, meditations and healing ceremonies in natural rock and tree caves, at springs, at sacred places in the woods or at the peak of the Shivapuri (2.732 m).
Also occasionally spiritual gurus of the Hindu tradition live in the magical wilderness of the Shivapuri region. Most of the time these Babas are in meditation, as a hermit they live completely selfsufficiently over many years only by what nature offers to them.
The Shivapuri Nagarjun's National Park is a sacred place with particularly strong spiritual powers for Hindus, Buddhists and of course also for the shamans. Many myths and legends have grown up around this region. Many religious shrines, pilgrimage and other sacred sites are there besides Shiva's foot imprint from where he jumped to the Ganesh-Himal, the spring of the sacred river Bagmati or the Buddhist nun monastery Nagi-Gompa.
All participants will receive extensive individual inaugurations & individual healing rituals from the shamans at powerful places in the nature.
Who ever dived into the charmed mountains of the Shivapuri once, smelled the beguiling fragrances of the wood, listened to the multiple and mystic sounds during night and day, saw the breathtaking scenery of the gigantic Himalaya massif, felt the connectedness with the inner and outer nature and met the magical entities of these other worlds, will be deeply touched in the soul and never be able to forget this again.
Before we climb up to the Shivapuri mountain we will receive important instructions and will get detailed preparation on the retreat at Kathmandu.
